Cantorial Manuscripts

From Yeshiva University. The Cantorial manuscripts, mostly dating from the early 20th century, include music for solo and choral compositions for weekdays, Sabbath and holiday services, weddings and other occasions. The cantors include Juda Appel, Samuel D. Falk, Abraham Frachtenberg, Manuel Gribetz, Emanuel Hollander, Morris Kantor, Chaim (Charles) Kupferschmidt,  Adolf Landmann, Nahum of Goniadz, Karl Neumann,  Chaim Pashkowski, Paul Reiss, Zeidel and Elias Rovner, Elias Schnipelisky
and Dov Stein.

Dutch Liturgy

From the Levisson Instituut.  Recordings and sheet music for the synagogue services as used in the Liberal congregations in The Netherlands throughout the year.

Jewish Table Singing

From Rabbi Jonathan Cohen.  Recordings of the songs and zemirot sung around the table on Shabbat and holidays.

London Sephardi Music

From Rabbi Jonathan Cohen.  Recordings of the liturgical music of the Spanish and Portuguese Jews of London. The site is searchable and arranged by holiday.

Piyut and Tefilah

Sephardic Pizmonim Project

Torah Leining

Zemirot Database

From hobbyists Gabe and Mendy. A user-editable online collection of zemirot. You can browse and search the database of zemirot and liturgy, hear recordings, see the lyrics in Hebrew and transliteration, as well as in translation, and upload your own recordings.

Piyutim

From Kehilot Sharot. This Hebrew language site provides access to a variety of piyutim by ethnic community, holiday and life cycle. The site has the lyrics and videos of performances of these liturgical poems.

Cantorial Books and Recordings

From Goethe University. An extensive digital collection of PDFs of cantorial books and music.. This database includes PDFs of cantorial anthologies by Abraham Baer, Gershon Ephros, Solomon Sulzer, Louis Lewandowski, Samuel Naumbourg, and others.

German Ashkenazi Prayer Service

From K'Hal Adas Yeshurun, Jerusalem.  Recordings of the nusach according to the Ashkenaz tradition, sung by Chazan Michael Friedman.


The Revd. Halfon Benarroch Hazzanut Archive

From the Shaar HaShamayim Synagogue, London. This site contains almost the entire cantorial repertoire of the Spanish and Portuguese Jews' Congregation of London - "Kahal Kadosh Shaar Hashamayim" - which was established in 1656 and is the oldest Jewish community in the British Isles.

Spanish-Portuguese Chazzanut
